ORDERING CUSTOM DEVORÉ
At Trotter Bridal, while we can customize your wedding look to your vision, we can also add a traditional textile technique called devoré, creating beautiful imagery embossed into the fabric of your gown.
Whether it's Initials, Heartfelt phrases, or one of our atelier's original, hand-drawn illustrations, these custom devoré designs personalize your gown to thoughtfully crafted to enhance each silhouette.
Our designs bring artistry and individuality to every piece, ensuring your gown feels unmistakably unique and meaningful.
Want to learn more about our Devoré process? You can learn all about the process HERE.
PLEASE NOTE: Devoré CAN NOT be done on every Fabric! If you've purchased your Gown elsewhere, this technique cannot be done on your dress. However, this could be done on an accessory or gown you purchase from us with devoré specific fabric. The images below show the devoré technique on a Silk Viscose Satin and a Silk Viscose Velvet.

A darkly romantic devoré story inspired by crumbling cathedrals and forgotten stonework. Hand-drawn gothic motifs like spiders, skulls, and architectural fragments - emerge from the velvet like relics of another era, creating a bold yet poetic contrast against the gown’s elegance.
A hand-drawn botanical collection rooted in softness and symbolism. Delicate florals like foxglove, lily of the valley, hydrangeas, lavender, and more - are woven together through devoré velvet, unfolding like a quiet garden in bloom, rich with movement, texture, and romance.
A lyrical collection celebrating Art Nouveau’s flowing lines and ornamental beauty. Inspired by movement, symmetry, and natural form, the hand-drawn imagery glides across the velvet with a sense of grace - timeless, ethereal, and quietly dramatic.
WHERE DO THE DESIGNS FIT ON MY GOWN?
The devoré designs are placed primarily on the train of the gown ( but can be placed elsewhere) The artwork is created to sit on each pattern piece of the train, allowing it to unfold naturally as the gown is put together.
As shown below, the pattern pieces of the gown train are designated to panels which the imagery is placed. This creates a cohesive, balanced composition that enhances the train while maintaining the gown’s overall elegance and structure.

At the end of the devore process after the imagery is placed on the pattern pieces and the gown has been fully constructed, you should have a wedding dress that resembles the image above. Take a look at our gown collections or read more about the custom ordering process below.
